COMSTOCK BAND MARCHES IN THE ROSE PARADE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A DECADE
Our First Ever Community Building Days were a huge success.
Created by our BESTPLUS committee, where we focus on building a culture of caring, our two days of Community Building involved teacher created and presented workshops in:
- Rules, Our Community Agreements (in a fun way!),
- Team Building, Building a School Family
- Chill Skills: In the Comstock Family, how should we respond when things go wrong?
- Diversity Challenge: What can I give the world?
- Time Capsule: How will we grow together?
- Campfire Joining the Comstock family.
Comstock Maker's Summer Camp was a great success. Thank you to O'Reilly Media in
Sebastopol for our 2nd annual Maker's Camp. Held June 10-July 3, students built CO2 racing cars, hot air balloons, solar ovens, cardboard furniture and more! Events were recorded by students via ipads and imovie.
The camp is FREE to all Comstock students. Check out our photo gallery.
Chromebooks arrive at Comstock!!!

Ms. Cleek and Ms. Oster unveil the first two Chromebooks at
Comstock, purchased through the Jordan Winery donations. These are cutting edge
ebooks that use the Google Chrome operating system. This enables students
to create their own gmail accounts and use free software and apps directly from the Cloud. No hard drives, no wires, no costly software, no viruses; students can blog, create dream wheels, work on math and English and save all their work in their own folders. Teachers can share folders
with their classes and edit and guide directly online. Our goal is to fundraise
to create as many class sets of these as possible. At only $275.00 a piece, we are confident we can become a totally Cloud based, online, wireless, 21st century school.
We are so excited!
